We evaluate each individual to ensure our program is the best fit for their needs. There are specific instances where an individual with psychosis will not be eligible for our services.
Exclusionary factors may include:
- Are under the age of 16 years old or over the age of 30 at time of referral
- Intellectual Disability (IQ<70) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Primary diagnosis of substance-induced psychosis, psychotic mood disorder, or psychosis secondary to a general medical condition. *Note: ~40% of people have co-occurring substance use in our programs. So having a mild or moderate substance use disorder does not exclude people from our services.
- Serious or chronic medical illness significantly impairing function independent of psychosis
- Have experienced psychosis symptoms for greater than 2 years*
*Exceptions: OnTrackNY Southern Tier in Binghamton, NY & OnTrackNY CNY in Syracuse, NY may accept individuals experiencing symptoms of affective psychosis and those who have experienced symptoms for less than 5 years.
OnTrackNY teams will assess each individual. If the individual you’re working with is not eligible for our services, the team will do their best to help route them to appropriate care.
